With summer around the corner, you need reliable air conditioning systems for comfortable living. Whether you want to cool your living room, baby's room, bedroom, or business premises, an air conditioner is a valuable appliance to have inside your property.

Air conditioner options are limitless since there are many varieties on the market. Since most units require careful planning, you should seek professional air conditioning installation services.

Here are the four types of air conditioning systems you should know.

 1Window Air Conditioners

Like the name suggests, a window air conditioner is mounted in a window and is the most common on the market. This unit comprises an exhaust system that pushes hot air outside while the fan points toward the inside to distribute cool air. If you have a large home, you may need to install a unit for each room since window ACs can only cool one room at a time. Since they're affordable, these units are common in apartments or smaller homes. That said, one advantage is that they are movable between different rooms.

2Split Air Conditioners

The split air conditioning systems feature two parts that comprise the indoor and a corresponding outdoor unit that emits warm air. A mono-split is the external part that connects to a single indoor unit; however, a multi-split connects to several indoor units. Each unit has its thermostat that regulates the temperature within a room. Split systems cool different zones within a room and are common in buildings that lack a comprehensive duct system.

3. Portable Air Conditioners

Portable air conditioners are like window units since they have all the essential components in a single unit. These use a condenser coil to cool the air and expel warm air out via an exhaust hose. You can connect the exhaust to ductwork on the window to emit the air outside. However, you may find the unit noisy. That's because of the built-in evaporator fan as it cools the hot air. Portable units are essential in cooling the air in small rooms and apartments.

4. Central Air Conditioning System

This option is a permanent part of the structural component of a building. If you have a large home with many rooms, this unit is the most effective option to cool extensive areas. The system is elaborate and starts from the cooling compressor located on the outside of the house while the fan blows cool air inside the house and distributes it in the entire room.

Regardless of the system you decide to pick, it should meet your cooling demands and be a good value. If you'd like professional air conditioning systems installation, consult with an HVAC contractor. A contractor can provide more information regarding air conditioning systems.
